Just an .exe and a data file. Thanks, that's way easier. Tl;dr won't let his friend "demo" his game to see if he likes it, wants to get for free. I'm not sure if you just didn't understand what people are trying to tell you, but you can simply copy gw2.dat and gw2.exe to a USB drive and give that drive to your friend, the game has no installer
GW2 downloads a ton of tiny files at various points in the download and it takes a very small amount of time to handle the non download part of handling these files
In terms of the install there shouldn't be any difference between a normal and trial account. That's just stuff handled by the servers. My .dat (the main GW2 game file) atm is ~16.6GB, don't know how much compression there is during the download though, so you may potentially struggle unfortunately.
I tried the command you mentioned and it yielded no improvement: "G:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2-64.exe" -patchconnections 24 Also every other service manages to show total download size and/or estimated time to completion, even Torrents manage this and they explicitly deal with downloading individual files separately across multiple connections. Hello! I am a new player trying to run GW2 using the 32-bit client cause the 64-bit client crashes for me a lot. I have tried renaming the client to Gw2.exe, and using the command line argument -32 at the end of a shortcut of the main .exe. Then some file got corrupted when my pc shut down in the update process and repairing didn't work. I had to re install the whole game and it's at 17.3 GB now.
